Asahikawa is known to score the country's lowest temperature of -41C. Urbanization might have raised the temperature, but the city's temperature range is still over 60 degrees between the summer and the winter. The temperature often gets -20C in winter. You can see very beautiful scenery, which appears at 1,000m high place in Honshu, the main island of Japan in the center of the city.

Kamikawa is the area, which surrounded by mountains like the Daisetsuzan range, whose peak "Asahidake" can be seen on a sunny day. You will be surprised by such a dynamic view from the city center. Enjoy this dreamy scenery only available in the fresh winter morning.

People in the Meiji era dreamed of building "Kyoto of North" here in Asahikawa. There was even a plan to build a vacation home for emperors here too. The trace can be seen in the Kamikawa Shrine. You can expect a historical atmosphere all through this tour.
